​LOCATION: Home Based in UK

Fantastic opportunity for a Sales Professional working with an independent chemical distributor with an exclusive portfolio of products from international suppliers. You will lead UK sales for an extensive product range of additives, pigments, polymers and surfactants to the coatings, inks, paints, adhesives, and allied industries. Skills in key account management and new business development will be essential for the continued growth of the company. You will be experienced in chemical sales with a background in coatings, adhesives or inks. Home Based you will regularly visit UK customers and occasionally travel within Europe to visit attend exhibitions, meet suppliers and attend training.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the UK sales strategy for the coatings, inks and adhesive markets focusing on new business development.

  • Key account management with extensive UK customer base in the paints, coatings, inks and adhesives market sectors

  • Regular customer and prospect visits in the sales territory.

  • Manage product recommendations, demonstrations and trials

  • Produce price quotations.

  • After sales service including dealing with customer complaints

  • Liaise with suppliers and oversee introduction of new products into the UK market.

  • Communicate effectively with all internal staff to ensure proper management of customer and company matters.

  • Complete all reporting tasks in a timely manner.

  • Support exhibitions and sales initiatives as required.

  • Meet all Health and safety requirements.

  • Ensure payments are received from customers within their payment terms and that they are managed within credit limit.

  • Expectations – 3 days travel per week, travel to the UK office as and when required, normally every 1-2 months, with occasional visits to mainland Europe to attend training & workshops at suppliers premises.

Candidate Profile:

  • Commercial experience with key account management and a proven track record in new business development.

  • Graduate with a science qualification or equivalent industry experience.

  • Previous experience from a relevant industry sector, be it from the sales or technical would be advantageous (inks, paints, adhesives & coatings)

  • Keen, curious, self-motivated with positive attitude and excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Adaptable to change, flexible mindset, prepared for growth of business, of tasks, responsibilities and know-how.

  • IT-literate, excel skills particularly relevant

  • Full driving license and passport
