Permanent position

Our client is a growing software company based in Germany. They support the data and compliance management requirements of life science research organisations across the globe. To support their business expansion they are looking for a Business Development Manager (m/f/d) to drive new business for their laboratory management software and enterprise products across Europe.

The role will include:

  • Manage the sales process from lead generation, through contract negotiation to PO receipt before handing over the product implementation team.

  • Promote new product features, moving clients from on-premises to cloud hosted solutions, and manage escalated support requests.

  • Plan and prepare budgets and sales forecasts.

  • Schedule and attend relevant meetings, trade shows and organise user-group meetings.

  • Confidently present products and general concepts to promote the use of highly specialised laboratory management software in public forum.

  • Collaborate in preparing marketing materials.

  • Manage proposals, contract negotiations, PO receipts and pursue overdue customer payments.

Your experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, business administration or a related field of study.

  • Several years’ commercial experience in laboratory sciences. Experience with LIMS a distinct advantage.

  • A knowledge and understanding of in vivo scientific models, including awareness of relevant regulatory processes.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent and proactive problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-orientation with the ability to analyse, prioritise, and multi-task with strong time management and organisational skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills are essential and a proficiency in written and spoken German and/or French.

  • You must have the right to live and work in the UK or European Union. Visa sponsorship is not available.

  • A full UK or European driving license.
