Fantastic opportunity to join an international manufacturer of paints and coatings; our client leads the way in supplying sustainable coatings for a range of applications. The role will be responsible for UK customers and Key Accounts for the Industrial Coating sector. Home based, you will deliver strategic growth initiatives, effectively respond to customer needs, communicate effectively to field based technical support and UK based lab team.
Key Account Management of Specified Accounts
Ensures the company’s Sales Budget objective is achieved.
Provide detailed assistance to the Market Manager / Business Manager in terms of budgeting data and business forecasts.
Ensure regular customer visits and that the appropriate levels of customer support and contact are always maintained.
Working in line with the clearly defined company strategy to develop new business opportunities within the strategic market sectors.
Monitor and report on all competitor activities.
Working closely with the technical service team, and the laboratory ensure that all technical, and quality issues are addressed in a prompt and professional manner.
Provide regular and detailed material forecast to the production planning department ensuring the uninterrupted supply of materials to customers.
Work closely with the logistics department on all matters relating to the supply of materials and customer service levels in general.
Support the finance department in terms of monthly cash collection, and any matters affecting delayed payment.
Ensure monthly consignment stock returns are undertaken, and returns submitted.
Provide the Market Manager / Business Manager with a monthly operating report focusing on existing key accounts and new business opportunities.
Highlight unsafe conditions and shut down any activity if it is operating in an unsafe condition, taking reasonable care of oneself and others.
Full understanding, and detailed knowledge of the UK’s industrial coatings market with particular emphasis on the ACE/HDE sector-Major Users, Volumes, Competition, Pricing etc.
Excellent communication & organisational skills-Ability to make verbal presentations at all levels, and have good written reporting technique.
Excellent negotiation skills are required and particularly relevant when it comes to price and contract negotiations.
A good working IT knowledge of and Microsoft Office.
Interpersonal skills-Ability to develop and maintain strong customer business relationships at all levels, Paintshop to Director.
Full Driving License
Willingness to travel and work away from home
Sound working knowledge and experience of working in a sales role within the industrial coatings market
