Exciting role with an International distributor or chemicals, working with the UK team focused on the coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants, construction and industrial markets. This role will focus on Technical Sales, supporting customers & suppliers across the UK and Ireland for the CASE portfolio. With the aim of maximising the benefits to customers, you will work with the latest technology provided by our new centre of excellence- problem solving, improving formulations with potential alternative products, and creating solutions for our customer supply chains. The successful candidate will have a good technical background from the coatings industry and some sales experience.

Primary Objectives:

  • To achieve sales budget in terms of volume, value, and operating profit within dedicated accounts.

  • To be a primary contact for Coatings, Printing Inks, Industrial and Construction customers within the region set and to establish as a major solutions provider for these applications.

  • A key member of the wider Global CASE Team with participation in projects and initiatives beyond the UK & Ireland

Main Responsibilities:

  • Key account management, with extensive customer base

  • Proactively develop relationships with customers, ensuring regular customer visits, and where appropriate collaborate with both the Business Manager and Suppliers to achieve the business

  • Accountable for sales activities within the UK and Ireland

  • Responsible for delivering the regional annual budget in co-operation with the Coatings sector

  • Business Manager and provide timely sales forecasts as required. Analysing variances to the budget and identify actions to remedy any short fall

  • Principle management and reporting

  • Identifying new, promising raw materials and product applications

  • Expanding business by investigating new market potential.

  • Grow, manage and execute project pipelines to close sales opportunities effectively and efficiently.

  • At all times ensuring that activities are visible, planned and output is documented in the CRM system:

    • Sales itinerary to be planned and entered.

    • All customer contact to be documented with visit, phone or Teams reports.

    • Sample request to be raised through the CRM and documented accordingly.

    • Product quotations to be raised and copied to the relevant CSR using.

  • Reporting competitor information and pricing. Communicating any threats to the business to the Business Manager.

  • Market research including market surveys.

  • To ensure customer sales price lists and quotations are updated with supporting data in the applicable costing program.

  • Regular travel to visit customers across UK & Ireland with the occasional European travel.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • A highly motivated professional with at least 3 years’ experience working within the Coatings, Printing Inks, Industrial and Construction markets.

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or related subject

  • A comprehensive understanding of the technology, innovation and regulatory trends that are driving these markets.

  • An effective communicator with the proven ability to negotiate and close deals.

  • Demonstrated experience of working at all customer levels

  • The ability to lead on technical discussions and form effective relationships with technical teams.

  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills

  • Driven to deliver on an individual level and part of a team.

  • Good IT skills

  • UK driving license

  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
