​Are you looking to join a dynamic chemical sales company, with an opportunity to move from internal sales to selling directly to the world’s leading manufacturing companies? Our client is a highly successful, fast growing and dynamic supplier of commodity and specialty chemicals to the paint, coatings, inks, resin, textile, adhesives, construction and plastics industries.

They have a newly created role to take the sales department to a new level of volumes sold. The role will give the individual the solid foundations to grow in a direct sales position. Not only will the role include supporting the regional sales managers but also the Global Sales Director. The role will include sales administration as well as developing relationships with existing customers and look to start new customer relationships.

You will be a self-starter, be able to communicate well and enthusiastically to all stakeholders in the business, be meticulous in their day to day planning and be proactive in their duties. A key strength of the business is the ability to build long lasting relationships with customers so the individual must have the drive and personality to do this.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Sales admin such as stock analysis, customer database implementation, pricing models and sales input into the integrated system

  • With the support of the team start selling our products into designated regions and customers.

  • Visits to customers either alone or with another member of the sales team.

  • Act as support to all other members of the sales team including taking phone call and replying to customer emails when other members of the team are travelling

  • Assist in a new marketing project including growth of our social media presence and SEO development

  • Build relationships with existing customers and generate relationships with new customers

  • Look for potential new customers including some cold calling

Essential Experience Required:

  • Self-motivated and proven track record of achieving/exceeding targets

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communicator. Is empathetic, and able to handle conflict and pressure.

  • Works well in a team and comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels;

  • Good relationship management skills

  • Organised and meticulous with all day to day roles.

  • Keen to learn and develop sales skills and gain a greater knowledge of the chemical industry

  • Ability to solve problems in a speedy and effective way

Desirable Skills

  • Product knowledge of the chemical industry

  • Fluency in a foreign language would be desirable,

  • Experience of using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Negotiation skills
