​Home based with customer visits

Our client is a leading international manufacturer of chemicals who develop bespoke technical solutions for customers. They are seeking an experienced technical sales & service manager to provide technical and commercial support customers in the polyurethane sector. You will be responsible for all technical details, managing accounts and winning new business. The successful candidate will have a first class background in polyurethane technology and experience of polyurethane applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide training to customers on topics about processing, product quality and safe use of chemicals.

  • Provide customers with product and service information and respond to customer questions about the materials performance and processing.

  • Actively manages a number of assigned accounts in line with tactics agreed for each business area looking to optimize the way we sell materials.

  • Plan regular communication and visits in line with the service levels.

  • Drive to win new business, in line with strategic direction of each business area, selling standard materials.

  • To help prepare comprehensive business cases for new opportunities requiring technical work.

  • Work with the Sales and Portfolio Managers / Technical Manager to establish a scope of work for the R&D team to develop new solutions.

  • Engage, with the NBD PMO process being the commercial representation on the project team.

  • Develop and maintain excellent Polyurethane processing knowledge, including a comprehensive understanding of process equipment, and effectively communicate technical information about the product range.

  • Resolve customer issues by visiting customers with processing issues as a priority (in line with service levels).

  • Develop and maintain a relationship with industry machine providers helping them commission machines using company materials.

Candidate Profile:

  • Develops and delivers multi-mode communications to different audiences.

  • Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.

  • Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

  • Works with full competence to recognize sales opportunities during service interactions to enhance overall customer service.

  • Chemistry degree or comparable experience. Relevant PU chemistry experience. Knowledge of PU high and low pressure machines. PU market knowledge beneficial
