We have an exciting opportunity for a QA & Compliance Specialist to join an expanding team in Cambridgeshire. This hybrid role offers the chance to work across a dynamic organisation, ensuring the highest standards in quality and regulatory compliance.

As a key member of the team, you will take ownership of UK compliance matters, lead internal and external audits, and drive their BRC accreditation processes. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality & HSS, Purchasing & Logistics, Product Management, Sales, Customer Service, and their European headquarters to uphold and enhance quality standards.

This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in the regulatory landscape of the Food and Feed industries, who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK laws and regulations

  • Manage customer requests related to supplier approvals

  • Respond to quality and regulatory queries (Food and Industrial)

  • Review and maintain legal documents in collaboration with the legal team (e.g., contracts, NDAs)

  • Oversee COA checks and MSDS update requests

  • Lead the recall and traceability process

  • Develop, finalise, and maintain quality processes and SOPs

  • Lead internal and external audits (HACCP, ISO 9001, FAMI-QS, BRC)

  • Drive the BRC accreditation process

  • Support HACCP and internal audit training for employees

  • Collate and submit Plastic Tax and EPR returns

  • Coordinate product testing (e.g., ETO, Mercury) and provide DGSA support

  • Uphold Health and Safety standards across the business

  • Ensure effective complaints handling and implement sustainable resolutions

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in QA and compliance within the Food and/or Chemicals sectors

  • Strong experience in quality documentation and regulatory compliance

  • Knowledge of UK REACH regulations, BRC standards and audit processes

  • Proven experience in internal/external auditing

  • Health and Safety management experience

You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in quality assurance and compliance. You’re an excellent communicator who can work effectively across teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
