Our client is a leading international paint manufacturer, they are seeking a skilled colour matcher to work with production to ensure customer specifications are met. You will need good colour vision and experience working with paints, inks or coloured coatings and using a spectrophotometer as well as equipment such as mixers and spray equipment.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate manufactured paint samples making adjustments with the use of pigments and other colorants to achieve a recognised colour standard matching previous production batches, before making a pro-rata adjustment to the larger volume of a production batch of paint.

Use laboratory test and evaluation devices, bench mixers, manual and automatic spray equipment including the application of paint with the use of a conventional hand spray gun or with the use of a paint robot

Once a laboratory adjustment to a colour has been proven the Colour Matcher would be expected to adjust the larger production batch, where they will be required to operate manufacturing equipment including paint mixing dispersers and tanks.

You will be required to work within different environments within the plant, including laboratory, production areas and spray rooms, where a flexible approach will be required as each of the areas represent a requirement for the Colour Matcher to adopt different skill sets.

Working in accordance with existing Standard Operations, where there will be a requirement to review previous paint adjustment documentation, record their progress with regard any adjustments made to the paint, and complete customer sub-mission documentation.

Person Profile:

Good communication skills where they will be called upon to discuss and interpret instructions with regard to colour direction from within our company and from the customer

Able bodied due to manual handling, where lifting, pushing and pulling of various loads and weights is a requirement

Good level of mathematical numeracy to equate a laboratory based adjustment into a pro-rata batch adjustment where the degree of accuracy is critical.

Computer literacy, use in-house IT systems, where data entry and operating colour evaluation software systems is a requirement.

Educated to A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
