Training & Career Progression

European adhesives manufacturer is expanding its UK operation with an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager. Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role is a perfect blend of managing existing accounts and cultivating new business opportunities. While the position is home-based, candidates will be living south of Birmingham, focusing on the South of England and Wales. The role offers ample room for career growth and progression in the coming years.

Main Objectives

  • Protect and support existing customers in the allocated sales territory/market sectors

  • Develop new business in line with the agreed business plan

  • Achieve sales and gross profit targets for the relevant period

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Customer and prospect visits in the allocated sales territory/market sectors

  • Product recommendations, demonstrations and trials

  • Produce price quotations in conjunction with the Sales Manager

  • After sales service including dealing with customer complaints

  • Communicate effectively with all internal staff to ensure proper management of customer and company matters

  • Complete all reporting tasks in a timely manner

  • Support exhibitions and Sales initiatives as required

  • Meet all Health and safety requirements

  • Ensure payments are received from customers within their payment terms and that they are managed within credit limit

Candidate Profile

  • Training and support from both UK and European colleagues,

  • Able to strategize effectively for market and territory development.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must, along with the ability to create reports and presentations.

  • While prior knowledge of adhesive technology is desirable, it's not essential as comprehensive product training is provided.

  • It is essential to have B2B sales experience in a manufacturing environment, coupled with the ability to engage with customers at all levels.

  • The role encompasses both commercial aspects and technical demonstrations, making problem-solving skills a valuable asset.

  • UK driving licence is essential

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available.
