​We have an exciting opportunity as a Sales Business Manager at a chemical distribution company. The range of industries they supply to is broad including personal care, health and nutrition and cleaning products to name a few. They are now seeking a candidate who will drive sales and manage the sales team effectively to ensure high-performance. With the global demand for chemicals in diverse industries, the career opportunities for skilled sales managers with leadership experience in the chemical sector continue to expand. With a good knowledge of chemical sales, the successful candidate will have experience of managing a team and a proven track record of developing sales strategies to achieve growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies for raw chemical materials across various industries

  • Identify key markets, define customer segments, and analyse competitive landscapes to drive growth

  • Set revenue targets and sales objectives for the team, and lead the team of sales representatives to achieve sales goals and KPIs.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of chemical products and market trends to help guide both personal sales efforts and the team's sales approach.

  • Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with key accounts and high-value clients, offering personalized service and tailored chemical solutions. Monitor their satisfaction and address any issues that may arise.

  • Collaborate with departments such as logistics, marketing, and R&D to align sales efforts with production capabilities and customer needs.

  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of sales representatives

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and improving the performance of team members

  • Strong ability to close deals, negotiate effectively, and achieve sales targets

  • In-depth knowledge of chemical raw materials and their applications across various industries

  • Skilled in building and nurturing strong customer relationships.

  • Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies and plans

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • At least 4 years of experience in chemical sales, with some experience in a management role

  • Industry-specific certifications or training in sales, product management, or safety (e.g., REACh, ISO, OSHA) would be an advantage.

  • UK driving license

  • Sponsorship is not available. If you already have a valid UK work permit you can be considered for the role
