This is an exciting role for an entrepreneurial individual who is looking to drive the development of new markets for cutting edge products into industrial acoustics. Our client specialises in scalable, high-performance functional textiles. Their technology is in a broad range of sound attenuation applications like soft furnishings, acoustic panels, automotive and aeronautical head linings and panels. The successful candidate will join a committed, passionate and enthusiastic team who service the industrial textiles side of the business, including small-scale R&D work, sales and post-sales support.

Reporting to the UK CEO, you will be responsible for commercialising the acoustic industrial platform and identify opportunities for new product development in industrial markets across the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing all inbound sales inquiries, including screening, initial contact, information and sample requests

  • Actively managing the new business cycle from lead generation and lead management to prospecting, arranging appointments, and preparing proposals and presentations

  • Building, managing and maintaining a substantial pipeline, ensuring that all activity is accurately documented

  • Drafting commercial documents, including NDA, heads of terms, manufacture and supply agreements

  • Representing our client at trade and industry events

Role requirements

  • We’re looking for someone who can flex between commercial and R&D and is comfortable engaging with technical experts to commercialise our industrial product platforms. In addition to high energy, motivation and a drive to succeed, we are interested in connecting with candidates who meet most of the following requirements:

  • Minimum of three years experience in a Business Development role in B2B markets

  • A mix of commercial and science work experience or education will be very beneficial

  • Ability to build and nurture commercial relationships and present at seminars and other industry networking events

  • Comfortable with cold calling

  • Proven ability to write and develop sales proposals and coordinate contractual activities
