Exciting opportunity for an International distributor and manufacturer of chemicals. The role will involve managing sales of Additives, Curing Agents, Fillers and Extenders, Pigments, Resins, Rheology Modifiers and Waxes to the paints, inks and coatings, adhesives and construction industries. The ideal candidate will have a background in the paints, inks and coatings, ideally in a sales or customer facing role. If you are looking to move from the laboratory or technical advisory role into sales, full training and professional development will be provided.

Home based in East Midlands or Southern England, you will be responsible for an established customer base in East Midlands / Southern England. It is expected that you keep abreast of advances in technology and identify new products and sales opportunities.

Key Tasks:

  • To maintain and develop the Sales and Customer Service functions in the UK, helping the company to achieve its Vision, Mission, Values and established corporate culture.

  • To provide professional and positive support to Partners, HODs, Country Managers, suppliers and customers.

  • To be responsible for the delivery of high-quality service and appropriate improvements, with an aim to achieving objectives in the areas of (but not limited to) Sales and Customer Service.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake activities within (but not exclusive to) the market areas of Adhesives, Construction, Polymers, Paint and Ink;

  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone / email with both existing and new products in allocated territory;

  • Identifying new potential customers within agreed territory in line with business focus;

  • Identify gaps within the product range and work to identify appropriate sources;

  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information;

  • Manage all opportunities for potential and existing customers through CRM system;

  • Liaise and negotiate, internally and externally, using appropriate methods, to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships;

  • Monitor and report on sector needs in terms of marketing, logistics and personnel;

  • Attend UK and overseas workshops / conferences / tradeshows as required;

  • Attend joint visits to customers with suppliers / principals;

Candidate Profile:

  • Several years’ experience working in the paints, coatings and inks industry working in a commercial or technical capacity.

  • Resident in East Midlands / Southern UK with the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available.

  • First class communicator with excellent organisational skills.

  • Full UK driving license with willingness to travel within the UK, Europe and Internationally.
