​Location: Home based in Northern England

Our client is an international supplier and distributor of a broad portfolio of speciality chemicals and additives. An opportunity has become available for a sales professional for the Coatings and Ink sectors to develop new business and secure current business. The role involves the cross-selling of a diverse product portfolio from best-in-class suppliers, fostering close customer relationships through regular face to face customer interactions and occasional remote contact, driving business growth through close collaboration with the Coatings and Ink team. This role will be required to cover allocated key accounts which will be based across the northern part of the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key personnel at new and existing customers, identifying decision makers and fostering trust, reliability, and contribution to product development.

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating with the Coatings, Construction & Ink team to maintain a healthy pipeline.

  • Introduce and promote new product offerings, leveraging unique selling propositions (USPs) and attending relevant product application training.

  • Monitor sales and KPIs to achieve budget targets, utilizing data insights for strategic actions.

  • Collaborate with colleagues on portfolio gap analysis, working with Business Development to identify new Principals.

  • Maintain knowledge of the Coatings, Construction & Ink portfolio and conduct market research to stay relevant to customer and Principal needs.

  • Develop project ideas with colleagues for target applications/innovations, extending beyond the typical Business Opportunity process.

  • Support special projects as defined by business needs, in agreement with the Commercial Manager.

  • Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date activity in the CRM system (Salesforce).

Candidate Profile

  • Preferably with a commercial background, particularly in the coatings and ink sector.

  • Holds a degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Chemistry, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interactions.

  • Driven by the goal of achieving sales growth, displaying persistence in overcoming challenges.

  • Numerate and analytical, capable of using data to inform actionable strategies.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, able to work under pressure.

  • A team player, collaborative with internal stakeholders for company success.

  • Self-motivated and disciplined.

  • Dynamic presentation skills, proficient in both one-to-one and group settings.

  • IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

  • UK driving license
