They have a fabulous opportunity for an experienced chemist to lead product development, resolve technical challenges and manage a technical team. Polymer based products have a wide range of applications including coatings, elastomer, foams and plastics.

Key responsibilities

  • Product development and solving technical problems across a diverse portfolio of products.

  • Manage a technical team focusing on internal processes, compliance and the development of new products.

  • EHS in the Laboratory and production and manages all internal and external pEHS activity.

  • Drives commercial and technical projects across the organization.

  • Project management ensuring timely delivery to customers in close liaison with the commercial team and production

  • Capital expenditure for laboratory equipment, processes, tools and methodologies.

  • Liaise with the Quality Manager to ensure adherence to ISO and external certifications.

  • Research using literature, patents, supplier information and conferences, keeping up to date with changes in legislation

  • Reporting to the technical director & general manager.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in chemistry / polymer science / material science of similar.

  • Previous experience in leadership or laboratory management positions

  • Technical background in polymers, coatings, foams, elastomer, adhesives or plastics.

  • Exceptional skills in analysis, planning & organising, commercial acumen, project management and new product development.

  • Must have the right to work in the UK - sponsorship is not available.
