Amazing opportunity for an experienced Chemist to work in Australia to develop marine coatings. Our client is long established manufacturer of paints and coatings; they offer an excellent support package to relocate you to Australia. This is a senior role within the organisation and will be responsible for the development, production and commercialisation of new marine coatings and support existing products.

Key Task

  • To develop marine coatings that meet or exceed the product development procedure.

  • To Enable growth in sales from sample batch production to large scale production.

Responsibilities

  • New product development and existing product enhancement.

  • Develop, implement and manage test procedures of all marine coatings. Including offsite testing such as panel/sample preparation.

  • Supervise and assist in production including to issue and maintain batch sheets for production.

  • To maintain comprehensive records of all testing.

  • Technical/sales service involving informing/training/supervising applications of coatings in the field. Primarily new product development.

  • Develop departmental policies and procedures as necessary.

  • To ensure Safety Data Sheets for any new products or existing products are still relevant and reliable.

  • Liaise with the Quality Control Manager. Assist in the development of Quality Control procedures, develop new Quality Control equipment and specifications as required

  • Will keep abreast of the current state of technology in company’s chosen field of endeavour.

  • Evaluate new raw materials as they become available.

Candidate Profile

  • Several year experience in the development and production of marine coatings.

  • Experience of quality control and testing procedure.

  • Education, a Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Team player who is proactive

  • Genuine care for company vision.

  • Ability to work independently and whilst communicating progress.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office (word and excel).

  • Fluent written and spoken English
