As a Commercial Manager, you will lead the Coatings & Construction commercial team, driving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer engagement. Working closely with sales, product, technical, and marketing teams, you will develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with broader business objectives. The role is primarily office-based in the South East, with regular travel to customers, suppliers, and industry events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver commercial strategies to meet financial and growth targets

  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage the commercial team

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders

  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and pipeline growth

  • Oversee product management responsibilities for selected suppliers

  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and business initiatives, taking corrective action where required

  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and technical teams to align commercial activity

  • Prepare forecasts, reports, and budgets for senior stakeholders

  • Manage escalated customer issues and ensure adherence to sales best practices

Candidate Profile

  • Proven commercial leadership experience within a technical or B2B environment (chemicals or related industries preferred)

  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable plans

  • Experience leading sales teams and delivering sustainable growth

  • Market knowledge of coatings, construction, or adjacent sectors is advantageous

  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and solutions-focused

  • Comfortable working with CRM systems and standard business software
