Our client, a leader in the coatings manufacturing sector, is celebrated for their innovative decorative and protective industrial finishes tailored for wood, metal, glass, and plastics. With a legacy of delivering excellence, they are embarking on an exciting new chapter of growth and are on the lookout for exceptional talent to help drive their ambitious goals.

As they roll out their latest business plan, they are seeking a dynamic and motivated National Sales Manager to lead the sales and marketing team. You will be responsible for developing and executing the business sales strategy, leading and motivating the team, and driving sustainable revenue growth. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and performance management.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver the national sales and marketing strategy, aligning revenue growth objectives with brand positioning and market expansion.

  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage the sales and marketing team, setting clear targets, KPIs, and development plans.

  • Drive integrated marketing activity in collaboration with internal teams, with a strong focus on digital channels and social media to generate leads and support sales activity.

  • Analyse sales performance, marketing ROI, market trends, and competitor activity to inform strategy and optimise resource allocation.

  • Build and maintain senior-level customer relationships and represent the commercial function at leadership level, providing clear forecasting and reporting.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role with responsibility for national teams and commercial strategy.

  • A proven track record in sales for coatings and surface finishes is essential. Specific experience in wood coatings is an advantage.

  • Strong capability in managing and integrating sales and marketing functions, including digital and social media-led campaigns.

  • Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, X, industry forums) as tools for brand awareness, lead generation, and thought leadership.

  • High level of commercial and analytical acumen, with experience using CRM systems and marketing performance data to drive results.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.

  • You must have the right to work in the UK - visa sponsorship is not available.

  • Full UK driving license
