​Location: Home based with regular office visits

​​Our client is a leading supplier of a range of paints and coatings, due to continued growth they are seeking a sales professional to join the sales & marketing team. The idea candidate will have experience in the paints and coatings industry, ideally industrial, corrosion, or protective coatings and some commercial experience. You will be primarily responsible for the development of sales plans, managing the day to-day and sales territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales plans and manage the day-to-day activities of the respective sales territory to implement the overall sales strategy.

  • Ensure that pricing is appropriate, accurate and up to date.

  • Negotiate sales with existing and new customers.

  • Contribute to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and strategies for the area of responsibility.

  • Search for and create new business opportunities in accordance with business needs, potential and capacity.

  • Collaborate closely with our technical team for trials and trouble shooting.

  • Establish and maintain excellent relations with key decision makers.

  • Identify and develop new business through planned prospecting.

  • Report on work activity neatly, precisely and on time.

  • Promptly report competitor activity, market trends, price surveys and new product development in the marketplace on a monthly basis.

Candidate Profile:

  • A good knowledge of industrial coatings, and technical sales experience in specification and on-site recommendations.

  • Experience working with structural steel/fire protection/floor protection and/or corrosion and advantage.

  • Experience of dealing with field enquiries from trade reps. and of visiting sites to meet contractors and develop business.

  • An industry certificate or Industrial Paint Inspector Level 1 to 3 is an advantage.

  • Experience of dealing with engineers, consultants, and contractors.

  • Experience of undertaking site inspections and problem solving for customers.

  • Dynamic and results oriented.

  • You must have the right to work in Ireland with a valid driving license.
