Location: Home Based in UK

An exciting opportunity for an Experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business and product development in the Cosmetics and Personal Care Industry as part of an international distribution organisation. If you are dynamic and ambitious with a strong technical sales and project management background, this role encompasses project management, business development and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role is to drive business growth through the initiation and conversion of new cosmetic and personal care opportunities with existing and prospective customers in the UK

  • You will seek out and establish new opportunities as well as maintain the existing opportunity pipeline, seeing this through to conversion

  • Provide specialised advice and technical expertise to your colleagues and accompany the commercial team on key customer visits to foster and develop relationships

  • You will work closely with all internal and external stakeholders to answer briefs and prepare presentations to highlight current capabilities, analyse trends and end applications for the customer

  • Conduct regular reviews with the commercial team to ensure opportunities are followed up and supported in converting to sales

  • Maintain, develop and promote relationships with key suppliers and define procedures to identify other brands and new product opportunities

  • Attend exhibitions, conferences and any other event of interest for business development

  • Manage local projects related to selected brands and brand leads

  • Creative input on social media content

Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Cosmetic Science or Chemistry, or equivalent industry experience

  • Substantial commercial and technical experience in relevant market sectors

  • Must be customer focused and able to understand, respond and provide effective solutions

  • Disciplined, and comfortable working from home

  • Up to 70% of your time on the road around the UK and Ireland with occasional international travel

  • Proven track record of developing and executing actionable strategies to drive commercial success

  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills

  • Ambitious and persistent with a solutions focused approach and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Team player, working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Good organisation, prioritisation, and time management skills

  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • IT literate across MS Office and experience with CRM systems

  • Current UK driving license

  • You must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available with this role
