​Our client is a leading International Consultancy providing strategic sustainability advice and guidance to companies around the world. The Sustainable Chemistry team manages a number of consortia and acts as an European and UK Only Representative as well as supporting clients throughout the supply chain in their use of chemicals and the opportunities and risks that brings. They are seeking a regulatory & sustainability professional to support the technical work required to meet on-going requirements of EU REACH and similar regulations globally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Completion of chemical regulation activities as required by the client, including REACH registration, poison centre notification, providing substance or regulation-specific guidance (e.g., SVHC, microplastic, PFAS, RoHS).

  • Providing ad-hoc chemistry support to other expert teams

  • Horizon-scanning and supporting consortia in developing compliance strategies for future changes to REACH and REACH-like schemes.

  • Management of consortia and/or their task forces, including responding to the requirements of REACH and REACH-like schemes.

  • Maintain global data-sharing cost models and administer the sale of letters of access.

  • Oversee daily administration and financial management of consortia.

  • Identify opportunities to further support individual members of consortia.

  • Expand the client portfolio with relevant regulatory and sustainability projects.

Key requirements:

  • Professional required with at least 5 years’ experience in business-oriented Regulatory Affairs and/or Product Stewardship function in the industrial chemicals sector.

  • Must have experience of working with technically complex products / chemicals and the regulatory environment in which they are sold and used, with practical knowledge of EU REACH regulation.

  • Working knowledge of IUCLID preferred.

  • Knowledge of other EU and global chemical regulations a bonus.

  • Project management experience, ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.

  • Experience in the consultancy sector or consortium management an advantage.

  • Previous background or passion for sustainability preferred.

  • Curious, globally minded, and enthusiastic. Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.

  • Effective time management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic work environment.

  • Commercially aware and able to manage forums where competitors are present in the same room.

  • Professional manner to act as a brand ambassador appropriate to the specific client environment and circumstances.
