​Our client is a leading supplier of speciality chemicals and raw materials to a range of industries in the UK and export markets. Due to continued success, they have recently expanded their operations with new laboratory research & testing facilities. They are seeking an experienced Senior Chemist / Technical Manager to oversee new product development, application and testing focussed on coatings. Knowledge of adhesives, elastomers and sealants applications would be beneficial.

​The ideal candidate will be experienced in the formulation, manufacturer, testing and application of CASE products. Paints and coatings experience is essential, supported by a positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively to customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out raw material evaluations, product testing and formulation development

  • Research, develop and formulate CASE products

  • Collaborate with colleagues to qualify the business unmet needs

  • Present findings to the team and / or the customer, this may include customer demonstrations

Candidate Profile:

  • Carry out research activities, able to evaluate raw materials and create formulations in a number of industrial market segments, major focus areas are: Industrial and Decorative Coatings (film forming and non-film forming). Adhesives, Composites and Sealants knowledge would be beneficial

  • Commercial product technical formulation and application experience.

  • Understanding of the sensitivities associated with a commercial sales operation

  • A growth mindset with attention to detail, ability to reach consensus and communicate in an operational environment.

  • A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously within a given framework

  • Science education to degree level. Analytical. Numerate. Literate. Articulate.

  • Ability to make customer presentations and host product demonstrations

  • Must have the right to work in the UK and reside close to the site.
