​Merritt Recruitment is managing the search for a dynamic UK Sales Manager to join an established, successful distributor and manufacturer of raw materials for the global colour market, including coatings, plastics, and inks. This role involves leading the sales team to exceed targets while directly managing key accounts and principal relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow market share and identify new business opportunities.

  • Lead, support, and develop internal and external sales teams to ensure effective working practices.

  • Manage key accounts and support the external sales team across the territory.

  • Strengthen principal relationships through strategy implementation, price negotiation, target account planning, and quarterly reporting and forecasting.

  • Ensure timely and effective follow-up on all quotes and sample requests.

  • Successfully source, recruit, and onboard new principals and product lines.

  • Introduce new products to the sales team with training, support, and implementation plans.

  • Maintain robust stock levels and ensure supply chain continuity.

  • Collect and analyse market intelligence, competitor activity, and new opportunities.

Essential Experience

  • 5–10 years field-based sales experience within speciality chemicals.

  • BSc or equivalent in science or business management.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Proof of the right to work in the UK (our client does not support or sponsor visa applications).

  • Full UK driving licence.
