As part of their exciting growth plans, the UK team is looking for a successful and ambitious Sales Manager with experience in Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering. You will spearhead market entry strategies to reach new markets and customers, while building strong client relationships. In addition to remote working arrangements in the UK, this position entails a genuine enthusiasm for conducting client and customer visits across the UK & Ireland.
Key responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth in new and existing markets including plastics, composites, rubber, and fibres
Conduct timely and precise forecasting to establish predictable and recurring revenue targets
Achieve sales objectives within the assigned segment, while efficiently managing costs and gross margin
Proficient in cold calling to generate leads and drive sales growth
Establish and maintain positive relationships with business partners and customers
Lead negotiations and conclude deals with clients and customers
Monitor and analyse market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge
Represent our client at industry events and trade shows
Candidate profile
Degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or proven industry background and experience
Proven technical & sales management experience is preferred
Deep knowledge of industry and trends for the Specialty Chemicals Industry, specifically within plastics, composites, rubber, and fibres
Strong negotiation and communication abilities
Highly motivated and target driven with good time-management skills
Proficient in CRM software and sales analysis tools
Good knowledge of office tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
A full driving license is required as this role will involve a significant amount of travel within the UK.
