​LOCATION: Home Based with visits to Manchester Office

Our client is a very well-established market leader, specialising in the supply of speciality raw materials into the polymer and related industry sectors. The business is long established and through a series of mergers and acquisitions is now part of a Group of companies. The business is poised for further growth as it delivers on its organic and inorganic growth strategies which will further strengthen the business within its current and future markets.

They require experienced Sales Executives / Sales Managers to manage the sales of chemicals and additives into a number of markets. Candidates will have a Science Degree in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science / Chemical Engineering with a few years in technical sales - full training on products & application will be provided.

The product portfolio is focussed around essential functional additives and speciality modifiers, with a clear emphasis on the technical attributes that lead to property and productivity enhancement. They are a highly technical, value-add distributor, representing globally positioned producers of speciality and technical products. The positions are supplemented by a highly motivated and competent sales and marketing team, primed to service and surpass Customers’ expectations.

  • Essential role within the Commercial & Business Development activities of the company, a leader for business growth

  • Delivery of budgeted targets and KPI’s as set

  • Increase revenue, gross margin and number of trading customersDetermine with the SD a business plan and actions required for growth in gross profit, year on year and in line with budgeted targets

  • Representation of the company at relevant trade exhibitions and specific events

  • Proactively provide business development proposals, properly qualified and quantified.

  • Key relationship builder with customers, principals and colleagues

  • Work closely with Market Assistants, the BMS & QMS to ensure we meet customer and principal requirements and enhance service levels to both

  • Travel both within the UK and International will be required as part of this role

Job Role & Competencies

  • Qualified with a Science Degree in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science / Chemical Engineering with a few years in technical sales

  • Ability to understand technical challenges and experience of polymers, chemicals and additives will be an advantage

  • Good communication and relationship building skills

  • Ability to utilise data and take relevant action

  • Focused on creating new business by networking and prospecting, whilst ensuring retention of business levels via repeat business

  • Fully understand and implement the sales cycle involved with technical sales, concentrating on areas of highest return for the business

  • Provide forecast and financial data as part of the budgeting process

  • Ability to be a self-starter and work upon own initiative Full UK driving licence and willing to travel to customers throughout the UK

  • Have the right to work in the UK and currently be resident in the UK
