​Location: Home based UK

Our client is a leading international distributor of speciality chemicals and raw materials; due to continued growth they are looking for a product manage to join the coatings and construction business unit. This wide-ranging role will be responsible for the sales and marketing of the coatings and inks portfolio of the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the market manager, sales and marketing of the Coatings and Inks range

  • To monitor and grow sales in the UK & Ireland

  • To help formulate strategy within the relevant lines of business within the UK and rest of Europe

  • To foster excellent relations with suppliers and customers

  • To provide commercial and technical support to UK account managers

  • To travel to customers for joint visits together with Account Managers

  • To travel to supplier meetings as required

  • To negotiate purchase and sales contracts with suppliers and customers

  • To balance the supply and demand of products and manage an overview of the logistics / supply chain

  • To monitor customer service, technical and product requirements

  • To support the development of new distributorships

Ideal Candidate:

  • Be a self-motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills in all environments

  • Be able to take information and distil and re-distribute the relevant parts as appropriate

  • Be able to work as part of a team

  • Have some sales or product management experience in the Coatings and Inks industry

  • Be IT literate having a working knowledge of Microsoft Applications and CRM systems.

  • Strong analytical skills - ability to analyse, manipulate, interpret, and present data

  • Have a strong attention to detail, identifying and proactively highlighting any data discrepancies and / or potential issues in logistics / supply chain

  • Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and to prioritise accordingly.

  • Must have the right to work is the UK sponsorship is not available

  • Homebased - national travel and must have a UK driving license
