Hybrid working – Onsite & Remote Working - Staffordshire

Our client is a leading manufacturer of a adhesives and primers for roofing applications. They are seeking an experienced Compliance & Regulatory Manager to support the Technical Manager and Managing Director with a range of tasks. This diverse and interesting role will be responsible for regulatory affairs, compliance, environmental, social & governance and supporting colleagues with changes in legislation. Flexible working is offered, with an expectation of being on site once a week or when required.

Key Tasks

  • Ensuring that the company meets all compliance and regulatory legislation for the use of raw materials, manufacture of formulated products, labelling and supply of products to customers.

  • Assisting with the authoring of SDSs and keeping records up to date.

  • Advising on labelling for products for local and export markets, ensuring compliance with legislation for shipping and use.

  • Advising the Head of Technical on UK and EU Reach legislation for chemicals and formulated products

  • Monitor and ensure the safe handling of regulated substances (e.g. hazardous, biocides, acids, etc).

  • Preparing risk assessments and safe systems of work.

  • Completing CoSHH Risk Assessments and keeping them up to date.

  • ESG and regulatory liaison with suppliers and customers, providing information in a readily accessible form both written and via presentations.

  • Contribute to and drive implementation of the environmental plan.

  • Responding to legislative changes and suggest new product development ideas.

  • Provide technical sales and customer support on all regulatory aspects.

  • Provide in-house training

  • Participate in Trade Association committees as required.

  • Assist with the management and auditing of the QMS

Candidate Profile

  • Self-motivated with a drive to complete tasks in a manufacturing environment.

  • Several years’ experience in regulatory affairs and compliance within a chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Authoring of SDS and labelling of chemicals and formulated products is essential for UK and export.

  • Educated to a minimum of Degree level in Chemistry or Science or equivalent.

  • NEBOSH Diploma

  • IoSH Member

  • Good organisational skills are essential.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail with experience of using regulatory and labelling software would be advantageous and full training will be provided on current systems.

  • Right to work in the UK.
