Due to recent acquisitions and expansion of their product range, a long-established manufacturer of coatings, paints, varnishes, wood treatment, waxes, cleaners, and other formulated products seeks an experienced Development Chemist to join their technical team. Opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and career development into a Technical Manager role.

 

You will become part of the Technical Team engaged to work on R&D projects and be involved with production and customer support efforts for a growing range of products used by both professionals and homeowners. So, if you have experience in formulating packaged chemical products, especially coatings, paint, varnishes, adhesives, or general cleaning, as well as a knowledge of ISO 9001 systems, this could be your next role.

 

As Development Chemist with this inspiring technical team, you will be involved in the:

  • Development of new products in line with current and upcoming legislation.

  • Reformulation & improvement of existing products to meet price points & regulation.

  • Technical support for customers, suppliers, and production departments

  • Production of safety data sheets using software (training available).

  • Assessing of alternative raw materials.

  • Quality assurance and quality control of raw materials and finished products.

 

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Proven practical experience of working in a laboratory environment ideally working with paints or coatings.

    People skills with the ability to work with a team.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Hands-on approach and a can-do attitude.
