Location: East Midlands
Our client is a growing, independent manufacturer of solvent and water-based adhesives, supplying a wide range of industries across the UK and internationally. They are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Customer Support Chemist who will provide expert support to customers regarding our adhesive products, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in adhesives or related materials, and excellent customer facing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and on-site visits regarding product selection, application, and troubleshooting.
Reformulate existing products to improve performance.
Sourcing and cost analysis of new materials.
Collaborate with quality team to resolve customer complaints and product performance issues.
Conduct product testing and analysis to support customer inquiries and internal investigations.
Assist in the development of technical documentation, including datasheets, labelling, application guides, and FAQs.
Deliver training sessions and product demonstrations to customers and internal teams.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions.
Support the sales team with technical expertise during customer meetings and presentations.
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor products, and new technologies.
Candidate Profile:
Several years in polymer based products, ideally solvent based adhesives. Coating, paint, varnish and ink experience will be considered.
PVC, PVA or polyurethane technology advantageous.
Previous experience in a customer-facing technical role is preferred.
Familiarity with quality systems, HSE and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and strong problem-solving skills.
Positive attitude and flexible to move with changing business requirements.
Driving licence is essential due to location of rural site.
Must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available.
Fluent written and spoken English.
