Our client is a software company based in Darmstadt, Germany. They support the data and compliance management requirements of research-oriented organisations around the world. As an accountant (Buchhalter) (m/f/d), you will work in a global finance team and be our main contact for financial service providers and advisers in Germany.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and US-GAAP
Record business transactions systematically and chronologically
Make national and international bank payments
Supervise and handle receivables management and dunning
Monitor financial transactions, including income and expenses, as well as related invoicing and payment processing
Work closely with our US parent company in the areas of budgeting, accounting and reporting
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in business administration, finance, economics or a comparable course of study
Ideally, you have also completed further training as a balance sheet accountant (m/d/f) or tax specialist (Steuerberater) (m/d/f).
Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
An understanding of US GAAP and the differences to HGB
Understand German corporate tax and trade tax law as well as the requirements for German VAT
Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally as an individual accountant with responsibility for the preparation of annual financial statements
Experience of accounting software, ERP systems, ideally Oracle NetSuite and knowledge of common MS Office programs, especially Excel
have a high sense of responsibility, work in a structured and independent manner
