We have an excellent opportunity available with a leading global distribution partner and formulator of speciality chemicals and ingredients. They are seeking a field-based Account Manager with a focus on Industrial Chemicals who will be responsible for both developing new business and securing current business. This role offers the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to utilise and develop their technical and commercial management skills, within a dynamic multinational company environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee key industrial customer accounts.
Experience in core market segments of chemical intermediates and industrial synthesis and oil and gas.
Maintaining and growing the profitability of the business across the customer base by contacting and converting potential or existing customers to promote new or existing products
Working closely with other departments and utilising their skills to your advantage
Managing all aspects of business related to customers; creating and following up samples, opportunities, visit reports, quotations, and price renewal campaigns
Regular travel for face-to-face customer visits
Business analysis to identify gaps and new opportunities and reporting to management on performance
Conducting customer profiling exercises and market research in order to have a targeted approach on cross-selling and maximising sales by application.
Coordinating and rolling out product promotion campaigns with the support of the UK Marketing & Communications Team.
Understanding the extensive product portfolio and their application fit and attending continued technical product training to enhance sales capabilities
Supporting data management for the Industrials business unit, ensuring customer, product and business related information is recorded accurately
Ideal Candidate:
A commercial background is essential, ideally gained through experience within the Industrial sector.
A degree in scientific discipline or equivalent industry experience
Driven by the need to achieve sales growth, and has a resilient, persistent approach when faced with difficulties and challenges.
Highly numerate and analytical, with the ability to utilize data to inform actionable strategies to deliver sales targets and meet the Company’s goals.
Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritise accordingly.
Ability to work collaboratively with both the team and other internal stakeholders
Ability to present data in one-to-one situations as well as large groups
