​LOCATION: UK Home and Office based South-East

Exciting commercial role with a successful, established and growing chemical distributor to develop new business and manage existing accounts within the Coatings sector including adhesives and sealants, coil, automotive, aerospace, construction, packaging and protective. You will promote a specialist portfolio of additives, pigments and resins and work with a sourcing and commercial team to develop new products and principals, drive forward sales and diversify the product portfolio and customers.

The successful candidate will have a technical and commercial background in coatings, paints and inks. Experience in some of the sectors will be considered essential as is a proven track record in new business development. Communication skills and drive and determination are required along with good organisational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the UK Sales Manager

  • Achievement of budget and KPI’s as set on an annual basis

  • Frequent travel to Scotland and Republic of Ireland

  • Management of key accounts

  • Business development by generating growth through customer acquisition, product acquisition and identifying new products for existing and new markets/applications

  • Responsible for working closely with the Company’s Principals

  • Future opportunities to take on Product Management responsibilities

  • Representation of the company at trade events

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience selling to manufacturing industries (including but not exclusive to coatings, inks and construction)

  • A chemistry qualification plus a technical background in formulation

  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to identify new business and margin growth opportunities

  • Ideally worked in chemicals distribution

  • Able to build rapport and work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders as well as customers, new client opportunities and principals

  • Solution selling skills

  • Right to work within the UK is essential

  • Ideal location in southern England for regular attendance to the Head Office and commercial team

  • Full UK driving license is essential
