About Laura

Laura is an expert recruiter for the chemical industry with over twenty years experience working with clients in the chemical, polymer, coating and science based industries. Her career started as Chemist working in R & D, formulation, product development, transfer to production and commercialization. She has experience of analytical techniques such as AFM, FT-IR, DSC, GC-MS alongside dispersion and milling of pigments, testing and weathering of coatings and even some colour matching. Her PhD specialised in UV curing, photochemistry, polymer chemistry and chemical synthesis and her work was published in journals and presented at international conferences. Laura joined a scientific recruiter and was rapidly prompted to company director taking responsibility for managing the team and business development. Supporting recruitment across the UK, Europe and Internationally, she has worked with the leading chemical companies to find the best industry talent. As an expert Consultant she has managed projects to build commercial & regulatory teams and research groups. In 2019 she founded Merritt Recruitment to provide a professional recruitment service for their clients and candidates.
