Are you an ambitious Sales Manager / Sales Executive with the drive to develop new business within the chemical industry? We have an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful and growing chemical distributor, they specialise in the supply of speciality chemicals & materials into the polymer and related industry sectors. Extensive product training and internal support will ensure you assist the Sales team to grow the UK business.
You will have chemical sales experience and will join the long established sales team to manage sales of specialty chemicals to manufacturers in the UK: surface coatings, plastics, composites, adhesives, elastomer's, personal care, agrochemicals and polymers. A Science Degree in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science / Chemical Engineering is essential to understand the technologies and applications. Full training on products & applications will be provided.
Key Tasks
Essential role within the Commercial & Business Development activities of the company, a leader for business growth
Delivery of budgeted targets and KPI’s as set
Increase revenue, gross margin and number of trading customers
Determine with the SD a business plan and actions required for growth in gross profit, year on year and in line with budgeted targets
Representation of the company at relevant trade exhibitions and specific events
Proactively provide business development proposals, properly qualified and quantified.
Key relationship builder with customers, principals and colleagues
Work closely with Market Assistants, the BMS & QMS to ensure we meet customer and principal requirements and enhance service levels to both
Travel both within the UK and International will be required as part of this role
Job Role & Competencies
Qualified with a Science Degree in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science / Chemical Engineering with a few years in technical sales ability to understand technical challenges
Experience within the sectors surface coatings, plastics, composites, adhesives ,elastomer's, personal care, agrochemicals and polymer, would be an advantage
Good communication and relationship building skills
Ability to utilise data and take relevant action
Focused on creating new business by networking and prospecting, whilst ensuring retention of business levels via repeat business
Fully understands and implements the sales cycle involved with technical sales, concentrating on areas of highest return for the business
Active working knowledge of the technologies relevant to the specified market sectors
Provide reforecast and financial data as part of the budgeting process
Ability to be a self-starter and work upon own initiative Full UK driving licence and willing to travel to customers throughout the UK
Have the right to work in the UK and currently be resident in the UK
