Our client is a leading international supplier of speciality chemicals, with offices and state-of-the-art laboratories based in the UK. Due to continued growth, the pharmaceutical division is seeking to recruit a Product Manager to drive the development and commercial success of their Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and excipient portfolio.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to further develop both technical expertise and strategic capability, supported by hands-on training in a cutting-edge laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver sales and product performance targets across the UK & Ireland, contributing to overall business growth
Support the development and alignment of product strategy within the UK, Ireland, and occasionally EMEA markets
Identify and promote new product opportunities, applications, and market trends
Act as the primary point of contact for key supplier partners (“Principals”), building strong and collaborative relationships
Provide both commercial and technical support to Account Managers to maximise customer engagement and sales performance
Negotiate supplier and customer contracts to achieve commercially favourable outcomes
Manage supply-demand planning and coordinate logistics with internal operations teams
Lead product campaigns, market mapping, and business development initiatives
Organise and deliver product training for internal teams and external stakeholders
Ensure effective use of CRM systems to maintain accurate records and strong communication flows
Monitor customer needs, technical requirements, and service levels to drive continuous improvement
Support the onboarding and development of new supplier partnerships and distributorships
Travel across the UK & Ireland with occasional international travel as required
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in product management or sales within specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients, or related sectors
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical and business priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and support decision-making
High attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
Comfortable working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines
IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office, CRM, and ERP systems
