LOCATION: Home Based, UK

Our client is a highly successful, fast growing and dynamic supplier of commodity and specialty chemicals to the paint, coatings, inks, resin, textile, adhesives, construction and plastics industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to expand the procurement team to include a Procurement & Marketing Assistant. The Procurement & Marketing Assistant will be responsible for Spot business negotiations and marketing / business analysis activities for the commercial team.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will be responsible for the following:

·Spot business negotiations,

·Collecting various prices, negotiation of terms and logistics needs

·Work together within the procurement team to understand the market dynamics where they source key raw material and feed it back to Commercial Director

·Coordinate with sales team the best deal from procurement for spot business and non-forecasted business

·Working in conjunction with the operations team to coordinate arrival of stock

·Control of volume off taken from supplier’s vs sales received

·Contacting potential new suppliers

·Analyse Supply / demand balance for each product by region and generate market reports

·Work with Operations on initial product allocation and best pricing positioning

·Keep records of offers received from the different producers and different products

·Liaise with other members of the Procurement Team

Candidate Profile

·Procurement experience, vision and great negotiation skills

·A trading mentality and skill set

·Well organised, a good problem solver and able to manage lots of information at the same time

·You must have a very high level of attention to detail

·You will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills enabling you to liaise with people at all levels inside and outside of the organisation

·Can work in a high paced environment, working conscientiously and proficiently

·Broad range of computer skills—database, spreadsheet, word, Sage accounts

·Product knowledge of the Chemical industry/Chemical industry experience is an advantage

·Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish, Italian, German, or Dutch is an advantage

·Familiar with Import/export administration and International Commercial Terms is an advantage

·Willing to travel in the UK, Internationally and in Europe
