Our client is a leading manufacturer of inks, coatings and adhesives with manufacturing and distribution sites around the world. Continued success and growth in the UK requires a dynamic sales professional to manage and develop new business in the Northern region of the UK. The ideal candidate will have experience of inks, coatings, paints, adhesives, speciality chemicals, packaging or printing and have a track record in new business development. There will be support for candidates in customer facing roles who wish to move into direct sales.

 Key Tasks

Identifying and acquiring new customers while also introducing new products to existing clients. The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding market presence in the region.

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in Northern England.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at target accounts to understand their needs and position our products and services effectively.

  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations to potential customers and promote new products.

  • Collaborate with the commercial team to develop compelling sales campaigns, and promotional materials.

  • Work closely with the R & D team to gather market feedback and insights for the continuous improvement of products and services.

  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports to management on a regular basis.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive developments, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.

  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to enhance brand visibility and generate leads where necessary.

 Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record of success in technical sales, with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Strong technical background in inks, printing, packaging, adhesives, chemicals, specialty chemicals, paints, coatings, or related technology industries.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive new business development and achieve sales targets in a competitive market environment.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.

  • Self-motivated and results-driven with a passion for exceeding customer expectations and delivering value-added solutions.

  • UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within Northern England and occasionally to other regions as needed.Typically 4 days a week travelling.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software for sales tracking and reporting.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Resident in Northern England with the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available with this role.
